What is The Mosquito Bowl about?
The Mosquito Bowl takes place following the attack on Pearl Harbor and centers on four top college football players who leave their careers behind to enlist in the Marines.
As they prepare for the invasion of Okinawa, they take part in a football game featuring some of the best players of their generation. For many of the men involved, it will be the final game they ever play.
The story is adapted from Bissinger’s nonfiction book about the real-life game played by Marines on Guadalcanal on Christmas Eve 1944.
Bissinger also serves as an executive producer on the film alongside Ezra Emanuel and Jeb Brody.
The Mosquito Bowl opens in theaters October 30 and will be available on Netflix beginning November 25, 2026.
