Friends, collaborators, and supporters also attended the screening as the documentary was introduced to festival audiences.

The Story Behind The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson

The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson follows the life of cyclist Moriah Wilson, often known as “Mo,” whose competitive career was marked by determination and rapid success.

Wilson was raised in a close-knit family and developed a reputation for her discipline and drive as an athlete. Her focus on cycling helped her achieve significant success within the sport.

In May 2022, Wilson’s death became the center of a widely reported investigation. News coverage followed the search for the person responsible and the subsequent court proceedings.

The documentary looks beyond the public record of the case.

Filmmakers frame the story through the experiences of Wilson’s family, friends, and colleagues. Their reflections provide context for both Wilson’s life and the aftermath of the crime that ended it.

The film’s narrative centers on grief, memory, and the ways people respond to loss.
