Run Away arrives on Netflix on January 1, 2026, bringing Harlan Coben back to the platform with a new eight-episode limited series led by James Nesbitt.
Following the strong performance of Missing You earlier this year, this new adaptation continues the partnership between Coben and Quay Street Productions, introducing another story built on family fractures, sudden danger, and the fallout of long-hidden secrets.
The trailer introduces Simon Greene, played by Nesbitt, whose stable life collapses when his eldest daughter vanishes. What begins as a desperate attempt to bring her home turns into a violent confrontation and a far deeper mystery. The series relocates the novel’s U.S. setting to the U.K., with filming taking place in Manchester and the North West of England.

The Story Behind Run Away
At the heart of Run Away is a family pushed to its limits. Simon once had the version of life people are told to want: a steady job, a close marriage, and children on predictable paths. Everything shifts when Paige, his eldest daughter, disappears. When he finally finds her, disheveled and vulnerable in a city park, the moment spirals into unexpected violence. Instead of a reunion, Simon is left grasping at a new absence, forced to navigate a dangerous world far removed from the one he recognizes.
As he searches again, Simon’s route pulls him through an underworld tied to addiction, control, and buried histories that threaten more than his home life. The tension in Run Away arises from the collision between an ordinary family and forces that expose what they cannot admit or confront.
