As the threads tighten, Elizabeth receives a chilling warning: an intruder leaves flowers in her flat with a note to “back off.”

- Bogdan’s secret: Elizabeth learns Bogdan killed Tony. Desperate to recover his stolen passport, he lashed out and caused a death he never intended. He confesses in a chess game with Stephen (Jonathan Pryce), Elizabeth’s husband, who secretly records it before his dementia causes him to forget.

In the film’s most tragic moment, John chooses to end things quietly. Knowing Penny will never wake, he uses a syringe to join her in death.
