Netflix is heading to the coast of Canada for its latest genre-bending limited series.
Currently filming in Newfoundland, the Untitled Newfoundland Project promises a chilling tale set against the raw beauty and isolation of the North Atlantic.
Created by The Umbrella Academy writer-producer Jesse McKeown, this six-episode event series blends supernatural horror, family drama, and environmental tension in a story that centers on survival, not just against the elements, but against something far older and more dangerous lurking in the sea.
A Remote Village, A Vanishing Way of Life, and a Myth Come to Life
Set in a remote fishing town in Newfoundland, the series follows a grizzled local fisherman who finds himself in an impossible position when a mysterious sea creature begins terrorizing his community. As the attacks escalate, he’s forced to protect not just his family, but a dying way of life tied deeply to the ocean.
The show promises a grounded emotional core layered with psychological horror and mythological unease. While details are still under wraps, it’s shaping up to be a deeply atmospheric series, one that explores grief, survival, and generational responsibility in the face of the unknown.
