Netflix reveals the trailer and full release plan for the epic conclusion of The Sandman.
The end is near, and it’s going to be unforgettable. Netflix has officially dropped the main trailer and a batch of new images for The Sandman Season 2, the final chapter in the acclaimed adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s groundbreaking comic.
Volume 1 will premiere on July 3, 2025, with six new episodes, followed by Volume 2 on July 24 (five episodes), and a final bonus episode on July 31 that spotlights Dream’s sister, Death.

Dream’s Final Journey Begins
After reuniting with his dysfunctional family of the Endless, Dream (Tom Sturridge) faces a brutal chain of consequences from his past. His kingdom is in shambles, the waking world teeters on the edge, and forgiveness won’t come easily — if it comes at all.
Season 2 picks up the pace and raises the stakes, adapting some of the most iconic and emotionally devastating arcs from the Sandman comics. Expect major beats from Season of Mists, Brief Lives, The Kindly Ones, and The Sandman: Overture. The show will also feature single-issue favorites like “Tales in the Sand,” “Thermidor,” “The Song of Orpheus,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and “The Tempest.”

What to Expect from Each Volume
- Volume 1 (July 3): Six episodes kick off Dream’s return and the fallout of his choices.

- Bonus Episode (July 31): A standalone coda focused on Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste), offering one final perspective on the world Dream leaves behind.

Cast and Creative Team
Tom Sturridge returns as Dream, alongside Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Death, Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, Mason Alexander Park as Desire, Jenna Coleman as Johanna Constantine, and many more. This season will also introduce new faces including Esmé Creed-Miles, Adrian Lester, Barry Sloane, and Jack Gleeson.
All episodes are directed by Jamie Childs. The writing team includes Ameni Rozsa, Alex Newman-Wise, Austin Guzman, Shadi Petosky, Jim Campolongo, Vanessa Benton, Jay Franklin, Greg Goetz, and Marina Marlens. A Final Goodbye with One Last Gift
Season 2 will wrap up Dream’s storyline in full, marking the end of Netflix’s adaptation of The Sandman. However, the inclusion of a bonus episode centered on Death suggests the story may not end quite as neatly as expected, and longtime fans of the comic know that with the Endless, nothing ever stays buried for long.
