No One Survives Alone: The Eternaut Premieres Globally on Netflix April 30

A storm is coming—and it’s not just snow. Netflix has officially unveiled the main trailer for The Eternaut, a gripping, high-concept sci-fi series set to launch globally on April 30, 2025.

Directed and created by Bruno Stagnaro, this six-episode thriller reimagines the iconic Argentine graphic novel El Eternauta for a modern audience, blending survivalist drama with otherworldly suspense.

A Deadly Snowfall in Buenos Aires

The story begins on a summer night in Buenos Aires when an unnatural snowfall suddenly descends over the city—killing anyone it touches. As the world outside turns lethal, a small group of survivors, led by Juan Salvo (played by Ricardo Darín), must band together to face not only isolation, but the growing realization that this isn’t just a freak weather event—it’s the first strike of an alien invasion.

“No one will survive on their own. The only way to live is to fight together.”

The show explores themes of resistance, humanity, and survival in a fractured world. With its cinematic scale and emotionally driven narrative, The Eternaut delivers a sci-fi epic unlike anything previously produced in Latin America.

An Argentine Sci-Fi Legacy Brought to Life

Originally published in 1957, The Eternaut (El Eternauta) was written by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and illustrated by Francisco Solano López. Long considered a cornerstone of Latin American speculative fiction, the graphic novel is finally getting its first official screen adaptation—staying true to the tone, spirit, and political undercurrents of the original while embracing today’s visual storytelling tools.

Bruno Stagnaro, one of Argentina’s most acclaimed creators, leads the series both as director and co-writer (alongside Ariel Staltari). The production was overseen by K&S Films, with Martín M. Oesterheld, the creator’s grandson, serving as creative consultant to preserve the authenticity of the source material.

Filmed Across Buenos Aires with Groundbreaking Production Design

Shot between May and December 2023, The Eternaut was filmed across 35 real locations in Buenos Aires and utilized over 25 virtual production stages, making it one of the most ambitious and visually striking productions in Argentine television history.
