The Oscar nominations for 2024 are in; early this morning, Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid announced the nominations for the 96th Academy Award.
WHEN WILL THE OSCARS AIR?
The Oscars 2024 hosted by Jimmy Kimmel will air LIVE SUNDAY, MARCH 10, on ABC from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised live in more than 200 territories worldwide.
WHO WAS THE MOST NOMINATED AT THE OSCARS?
“Oppenheimer” received 13 nominations, closely followed by “Poor Things,” which received 11.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” received 10 nominations, while “Barbie,” last year’s biggest box office hit, earned 8 nominations. However, the film’s director, Greta Gerwig, and its star and producer, Margot Robbie, were both snubbed.
HOW MANY NOMINATIONS DID NETFLIX RECEIVE AT THE OSCARS 2024?
Netflix received 18 nominations overall.
“Maestro”, directed by Bradley Cooper, earned the most nominations for Best Picture, Actor, and Actress in a Leading Role, as well as for Sound, Cinematography, Original Screenplay, and Makeup and Hairstyling.
“Nyad” the true story of athlete Diana Nyad, who, at the age of 60, with the help of her best friend and coach, commits to achieving her lifelong dream of completing a 110-mile open ocean swim from Cuba to Florida. The movie has earned nominations for Annette Bening as Best Actress and Jodie Foster as Best Supporting Actress.
Colman Domingo has been nominated for Best Actor for his role in “Rustin”.
“Society of The Snow,” which is fourth in the most popular list for non-English films, earned nominations for the categories of International Feature Film as well as Makeup and Hairstyling.
Other important mentions include “The Wonderful Life of Henry Sugar,” which has been nominated for the Short Film Live-Action category, and “Nimoa,” for the Animated Feature Film category.
May-December has only been nominated for the Original Screenplay category, a possible snub for Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore.
