Crew Girl is officially coming back for Season 2. Netflix renewed the YA drama just over two weeks after its September 10 debut, following a strong start that has kept the series in the English TV Top 10 since its release.
Netflix says Crew Girl has now reached more than 16 million views, climbed to No. 2 in the English TV rankings this week and entered the Top 10 in more than 90 countries.
The renewal also means Teagan Tao’s story isn’t ending with the many complications left behind by Season 1.
Crew Girl Season 2 Has Plenty of Story Left for Teagan
The first season introduced Miku Martineau as 16-year-old Teagan Tao, a promising single-sculls rower whose career is thrown off course by a family scandal.
After moving to the East Coast with her mother, Ella (Jessica Paré), Teagan enrolls at Easton Prep only to discover the school doesn’t have a girls’ rowing team. Her way back onto the water comes through the boys’ varsity crew, where she becomes the team’s coxswain.
That also puts her between two of the team’s biggest rivals, captain Josh Regis (Sam Braun) and Cam Dillinger (Kyle Clark), turning Teagan’s new life into a mix of rowing, family problems and an increasingly complicated love triangle.
Season 1 leaves Netflix with plenty to pick up when the show returns, something Martineau also teased while reacting to the renewal.
“There’s so much left to explore with the characters, the romances, and the rowing team, it’s going to be a ride for sure!”
Martineau added that she expects a “packed, juicy, drama-filled second season” and is ready to get back in the boat and in front of the camera.
Who Could Return for Crew Girl Season 2?
Netflix’s renewal announcement does not yet include a full Season 2 cast list. Season 1 stars Martineau as Teagan alongside Jessica Paré as Ella, Sam Braun as Josh, Kyle Clark as Cam and Thomas Cadrot as Coach Hayden.
Vivian Lin and Morwyn Brebner developed the series, with Blue Ant Studios serving as the production company.
Netflix has not announced when Crew Girl Season 2 will begin production or when the new episodes will arrive.
The renewal also adds another returning series to Netflix’s current YA lineup alongside Ginny & Georgia and My Life with the Walter Boys. According to Netflix, its young adult titles have generated more than 10.4 billion global views since 2023.
