Nobody Wants This Season 3 Sets October Release Date as Netflix Shares First Look

Netflix has set the Nobody Wants This season 3 release date for Thursday, October 22, 2026. The streamer announced the date alongside the first photos and teaser art for the new season, which will once again consist of 10 half-hour episodes.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody return as Joanne and Noah, and this time the couple is moving in together. After the ups and downs of season 2, creator Erin Foster and co-showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan say season 3 will give them some room to enjoy being together while dealing with all the firsts that come with building a life together.

The new season arrives on Netflix on October 22, with Foster and the show’s producers describing a lighter mood for Joanne and Noah’s next chapter.

“After the ups and downs of Noah and Joanne in Season 2, it was really important to us to be like, ‘Let’s let them have their moment now of settling in and having fun,'” Kaplan told Netflix’s Tudum.

Foster added that they wanted Joanne and Noah to remain “fun and flirty” even as their relationship becomes more settled. The couple will also get some of the bigger romantic moments that come with moving forward together, although Foster teased that the writers have found ways to give those moments a few surprises.

Konner has a particularly simple description for the season: “This season feels like champagne.”

That idea apparently became something of a test in the writers’ room. Foster said that whenever a potential storyline came up, they would ask themselves, “Is this Champagne?”

Sasha and Esther Are Single After Their Separation

Joanne and Noah won’t be the only relationship getting attention.

Season 2 ended with Sasha and Esther separated, putting both characters back into the dating world. According to Foster, their experiences with being single won’t play out quite the same way.

“We talked a lot about this idea that sometimes the person who wants the breakup is the person that ends up having a harder time being single,” Foster said. “Meanwhile, Sasha starts to gain momentum and have fun experiences. He realizes there’s more out there than his wife.”

Sasha’s new relationship status also changes things with Morgan.

The chemistry between the two has been hanging around for some time, but Kaplan says Sasha being single creates a new situation for them. They’re still friends, but there is now an “unspoken thing” between them that wasn’t possible in quite the same way before.

Morgan Has Bigger Career Plans in Season 3

Morgan will have something else on her mind, too.

Kaplan said season 3 finds her thinking about how she can become “something bigger” at this point in her life, while Konner teased that “Morgan’s passion is lapping Joanne.”

Netflix hasn’t revealed much more about what that means for Morgan’s career yet.

Along with Bell and Brody, the season 3 cast includes Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, Jackie Tohn, Andrew Rannells, Sarah Silverman, Shiloh Bearman, Sherry Cola, Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitchcock, Paul Ben-Victor and Tovah Feldshuh.

Foster created the series and remains an executive producer. Konner and Kaplan serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. Nobody Wants This is produced by 20th Television.
