Margo’s Got Money Troubles Season 2 Already Has Its Story Waiting

Margo’s Got Money Troubles Season 2 is already confirmed at Apple TV, but the bigger question now is what comes next after that Season 1 ending. The finale closes Margo’s custody battle, but it also leaves the door wide open for JB, Hungry Ghost, Jinx, Shayanne, Kenny, and Lace.

The renewal has been known for weeks, so the more interesting angle is not whether Margo’s Got Money Troubles Season 2 will happen. It is how cleanly Season 1 already prepared the next story. Apple TV renewed the David E. Kelley series, based on Rufi Thorpe’s bestselling novel and produced by A24, with Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nicole Kidman, Nick Offerman, and Thaddea Graham leading the cast.

How Margo’s Got Money Troubles Season 1 Ends

The Season 1 finale brings Margo and Mark’s custody fight to court after weeks of pressure, humiliation, and legal fear. Mark tries to argue that Margo is not fit to raise Bodhi because of her work, her family, and Jinx’s relapse. Margo pushes back by making the simpler point: she is the parent who has actually raised Bodhi.

The judge ultimately grants Margo primary custody, while Mark gets visitation two weekends a month. It is not a clean break from Mark, but it is a win for Margo. More importantly, it gives Bodhi the chance to know his father without ripping him away from the mother and family he knows.

The courtroom also gives Shayanne one of the finale’s most moving moments. When Bodhi stays calm in her arms for the first time, she finally seems to accept herself as his grandmother. After a whole season of panic, shame, judgment, and denial, that moment matters.

Then comes the reveal about child protective services. Mark did not make the call. Kenny did. He says he was worried about Bodhi after Jinx’s overdose, but the damage is enormous. Shayanne now has to sit with the fact that her new husband went behind her back and helped trigger the worst chapter of Margo’s life.

JB Is the Biggest Season 2 Setup

The finale ends with Margo back in her Hungry Ghost world, preparing for a new live show in the spare room of her apartment. A new fan named JB appears and sends her $1,350.

That is not a random detail.

In Rufi Thorpe’s book, JB becomes Margo’s new love interest and plays an important role in helping her build the next stage of her business. The character was originally expected to appear in Season 1, with Michael Workéyè attached to play him, but he was ultimately cut because the season already had too much material to cover.

That makes the finale’s JB tease feel like a very clear bridge into Margo’s Got Money Troubles Season 2.

Season 1 had to handle Margo becoming a mother, creating Hungry Ghost, fighting Mark, rebuilding ties with Shayanne, and surviving the fallout from Jinx’s relapse. Adding JB properly into that crowded first season may have been too much. Now, Season 2 has room to bring him in with more space.

If the series follows that part of the book, JB could become more than a romantic interest. He could also be tied to Margo’s future as someone who helps her think bigger about her work, her money, and the business she is building around Hungry Ghost.

Hungry Ghost Is No Longer Just Survival

By the end of Season 1, Margo is not treating Hungry Ghost like a desperate temporary fix anymore.

She has built a character, a set, a visual style, and a voice. She has help from Susie, KC, and Rose. She has also made it very clear to Shayanne that she does not want to quit OnlyFans just because other people are uncomfortable with it.

For Margo, the work pays for childcare, rent, and healthcare. But it also gives her creative control. That is the part Season 2 can really explore.

The finale’s last image of Margo performing as Hungry Ghost is bold, strange, and very Margo. She is not hiding from the camera anymore, no her body.

That does not mean everything is solved. Her work has already been used against her in court, and Mark is still part of Bodhi’s life now. Season 2 can pick up with Margo trying to grow something real while still dealing with the judgment that comes with it.

Shayanne, Kenny, Jinx, and Lace Still Have Unfinished Business

The finale also leaves Shayanne and Kenny in a complicated place.

Their Vegas wedding already felt uneasy after Shayanne’s fight with Margo. Kenny’s confession now makes things worse. He did what he thought was right, but he also betrayed Shayanne’s trust and put Margo at risk in a way he clearly did not understand.

That marriage is one of the biggest open questions going into Season 2.

Jinx also has a future to figure out. Season 1 ends with him on methadone, out of Margo’s house, and trying to rebuild after his overdose. His recovery cannot be treated like a solved problem after a montage. Season 2 has space to show what he does next, especially now that Margo needs him in her life without depending on him in the same way.

And honestly, Lace needs to come back.

Nicole Kidman’s role as Lace gave the back half of the season a sharp new energy, and the finale proves Margo’s world still has plenty of legal, emotional, and family mess left to sort through. If Season 2 keeps expanding that world, Lace is one of the characters worth seeing again.
