Episode 5: Hyde and Woe Seek
The episode opens with Wednesday in a coma after Tyler’s attack. As Morticia reads to her from Macbeth, Wednesday enters a dream state where she encounters Principal Larissa Weems, now her spirit guide. Though spirit guides are usually family, Weems reveals they are distant relatives, and that no one else “volunteered” after Goody sacrificed herself. Weems warns that Wednesday has abused her powers, and if she wants her psychic ability back, she must face herself honestly.
When Wednesday wakes, she learns two weeks have passed since the attack and that Rachael Fairburn has died. The fugitives from Willow Hill are now identified as Fester Addams, John Doe, and Tyler.

Dr. Stoneheart’s Warning
Dr. Stoneheart visits Wednesday and issues a threat: if Wednesday exposes her secret lab to the sheriff, she will reveal Wednesday broke into her facilities. The lab is already closed since most of the patients are dead, but one case stands out, Patient 1938, the only one without a false obituary, still missing. Wednesday vows to investigate further. As she leaves the hospital, she receives dead flowers from Tyler with a chilling note: both she and Enid are marked for death.
Bianca’s Dilemma
Bianca hides her mother at Nevermore to keep her safe from Gideon and Morning Song. Once a genuine movement that supported outcasts, Gideon’s siren network has devolved into exploitation.
Wednesday vs. Enid
Back at Nevermore, tensions rise between Wednesday and Enid. Wednesday urges Enid to leave for her own safety, but Enid pushes back, tired of being underestimated. She insists she can’t abandon her pack or her best friend, reminding Wednesday that nobody, not even her, can face the world entirely alone.
Día de los Muertos
- Weems confronts Principal Dort, claiming he was never on her successor’s list.
- Gomez promises Pugsley he’ll help search for Slurp.
Wednesday also questions Professor Isadora Capri, who once survived a Hyde attack from her boyfriend Alfie Penn. Capri reveals:
- She didn’t know Alfie was a Hyde until he tried to kill her under orders from his master.
- During a full moon, she fought him off, and Alfie accidentally killed his master.
- Without a master, Hydes usually spiral into psychosis, paranoia, and death, though females are stronger and can endure longer.
This sparks Wednesday’s dangerous idea: becoming Tyler’s new master.

The Nightshades Return
Enid admits she and Wednesday can’t fight Tyler alone. Together, they reactivate the Nightshades. Meanwhile, the sheriff confirms Tyler is still in Jericho.
Pugsley and Slurp
Gomez and Pugsley’s search for Slurp leads them to Pilgrim World, now transformed into “Mexico Town.” When Slurp appears, chaos follows, and Pugsley finally confronts him:
- Slurp can now speak and reveals Pugsley gave him his second chance.
- He begs Pugsley to let him go before the police close in.
- Pugsley helps him escape but lies to Gomez about it. Gomez, however, seems to recognize Slurp’s new, more human form.
Tyler’s Return to Nevermore
Weems cautions Wednesday against trying to control Tyler, warning that a true master must be emotionally detached, while Wednesday is full of repressed fear, hate, and even love. Tyler already betrayed Thornhill; he will betray her too.
Meanwhile, Patient 1938 is revealed to be Françoise, Tyler’s mother. Morticia recognizes her, and Françoise confesses she was imprisoned in Willow Hill. She knows her son is headed to Nevermore, and Morticia knows who his target is.
The Cemetery Confrontation
At the Remembrance Procession in Nevermore’s cemetery, the Nightshades put their plan into motion.
- Enid lures Tyler into the trap.
- The Nightshades surround him as he transforms.
- Just as Wednesday prepares to inject the controlling serum, another Hyde arrives: Françoise.
Before Françoise can attack, Morticia steps in and invokes a deal she made. Françoise orders Tyler to leave peacefully, promising she’ll take him away from Jericho forever. As a mother, Morticia believes her.
Closing Moments
- Gomez tells Morticia that Slurp is actually Isaac, while Morticia reveals Françoise is alive.
- Tyler and Françoise reunite at last.
- Enid, in a stunning moment, transforms into a werewolf without a full moon, witnessed by Professor Capri.
Episode 6: Woe Thyself
The episode opens on a surreal note: Wednesday, dressed in Enid’s rainbow-colored style, full of energy, hugging classmates, and dancing through Nevermore. Quickly, the story rewinds to 16 hours earlier to explain how this bizarre transformation happened.
Principal Dort’s Curfew and Weems’s Warning
In Principal Dort’s office, the sheriff, Wednesday, Morticia, and Gomez recount everything about Tyler, Françoise, and the Stonehearts. Dort imposes a curfew.
Weems appears to Wednesday in spirit form and warns her that, despite the events of Episode 5, the vision hasn’t changed; Enid still dies, and Wednesday is still tied to it. She explains:
- Wednesday’s powers are bound not just by inheritance but by family connection.
- Her unresolved tension with Morticia is disrupting her psychic abilities.
- The Addams lineage draws strength from unity, but Wednesday’s denial of empathy makes her the weak link.
Weems insists she must repair her bond with Morticia and stop trying to control Tyler.
The Truth About Isaac Night
Wednesday learns that Françoise once had a brother, Isaac Night, a genius inventor who designed Professor Orloff’s life-support system. His mentor, Dr. Stonehurst, gave him a secret lab in Iago Tower, which later exploded. Isaac’s body was never recovered, spawning legends, some say he fled, others that he was buried under the Skull Tree.
Wednesday and Pugsley piece it together: Slurp is Isaac, searching for Françoise.
Françoise and Tyler in Hiding
Françoise cares for a chained Tyler, but she is coughing blood, a sign of her deteriorating condition as a Hyde. Isaac later finds them and offers to help, claiming he can “kill the monster inside her.” Françoise reveals Stonehurst stole his diaries and twisted his work at Willow Hill, trying to transfer outcast abilities to normies. Now Judi Stoneheart is carrying on that research. Isaac coldly admits Judi is already dead.
Enid and the Alpha Revelation
Professor Isadora Capri tells Enid that transforming without a full moon could mean she’s an alpha werewolf. Signs point to it: a late bloom, her first change under a blood moon, and her sudden surge of strength. Enid worries, since alphas are usually solitary, but Capri stresses her potential power.

Seeking Psychic Restoration
Wednesday turns to her grandmother Hester Frump, who once enhanced her raven sight to spy on enemies. Morticia disapproves, but Hester insists ravens carve their own paths, unlike “emotional doves” like Morticia.
Hester suggests Wednesday seek out Professor Rosaline Rotwood, a legendary raven buried in Nevermore’s cemetery. Her grave is imbued with dark energy that can restore temporary sight if a raven recites the inscription.
Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood
At the cemetery, Wednesday performs the ritual and meets Rosaline, portrayed by Lady Gaga. Rotwood criticizes Hester for craving family and calls out Wednesday’s arrogance. She warns that if Wednesday wants to recover her powers, she must endure pain without flinching.
Rotwood offers her a test: keep her hand in the flame to restore her sight, or pull away and pay a price. Wednesday envisions Tyler and Françoise in danger, but when Enid touches her mid-ritual, she breaks the trance. Both collapse, and the consequence is dire: they wake up in each other’s bodies.

Freaky Friday at Nevermore
- Weems explains two ravens who attempted this ritual died within 24 hours. Wednesday fears she’s doomed Enid after all.
- Enid (in Wednesday’s body) tries to live up to the Addams name but feels betrayed when she discovers Wednesday’s novel paints her alter ego, Evelyn, as shallow and weak.
- In retaliation, Enid leans into the parody, dressing and behaving in over-the-top rainbow fashion as “Wednesday-as-Enid.”
Meanwhile:
- Agnes begins to suspect the body swap.
- Thing joins a support group for outcasts, revealing he once wore a silver signet ring.
Wednesday as Enid ends things with Bruno
Wednesday (in Enid’s body) discovers Bruno calling secretly another girl. Bruno admits he had a girlfriedn and she nreaksu up with him. The breakup is blunt and uncharacteristically cold, leaving Bruno stunned. The moment underscores how differently Wednesday views relationships compared to Enid, pragmatic, unsentimental, and quick to sever ties.
The Addams Family Dinner
Enid-as-Wednesday attends dinner with Gomez, Morticia, and Pugsley. The parents confront them about lying:
- Pugsley confesses about Slurp at Pilgrim World.
- Morticia reveals she found Enid snooping in Rotwood’s chamber, still thinking she’s herself.
Weems confirms the swap and tells them they must fix it themselves before dawn.
Isaac’s Deadly Work
Isaac visits Professor Orloff, drains his life source, and kills him. Agnes witnesses the murder while invisible and secretly follows Isaac back to Willow Hill, where Françoise and Tyler await. She discovers Judi Stoneheart’s corpse in the trunk of their car.
Showdown at Willow Hill
Isaac begins an experiment to strip Françoise of her Hyde side. Tyler senses Agnes’s presence and locks her in a cell. Meanwhile:
- Wednesday (still in Enid’s body), now a full alpha werewolf, breaks free and attacks Tyler.
- Enid(still in Wednesday’s body) helps Agnes sabotage Isaac’s equipment.
- Enis, Wedsnesday and Agnes escape the facilty.
- Chaos erupts as Françoise, Isaac, and Tyler escape the collapsing lab.
Secrets Exchanged, Bonds Repaired
At Rosaline’s grave, Wednesday and Enid confess their deepest truths:
- Enid admits the one thing she admired about being Wednesday: her fearlessness, except when it comes to Morticia. She worries she will never live up to her mother’s expectations and will be cast aside like Ophelia.
- Wednesday confesses that being Enid revealed her quiet strength. Kindness isn’t weakness, but true power. She apologizes for underestimating her friend.
The honesty restores balance, and they return to their own bodies.
The Final Vision
Weems tells Wednesday that her vision of Enid’s death has vanished. But a new prophecy emerges: one Addams must die. The question is, who?
Episode 7: Woe Me the Money
The episode begins with a flashback to 15 years earlier in Morning Song, Florida. A younger Barry Dort sits in a bar, frustrated by his inability to rally followers to his vision of enlightenment. There he meets Arnold Hunt, a washed-up actor once known for playing Dr. Gideon Sterling in a soap opera. Dort recruits him as the face of a new movement, which he names Morning Song.
In the present day, Dort reads in the newspaper that Gideon has resurfaced in Vermont. When Bianca and her mother Gabrielle arrive at Nevermore, Bianca realizes the shocking truth: Dort is Morning Song.

Isaac’s Desperation
Wednesday locates the hidden bunker where Isaac, Françoise, and Tyler were hiding. She understands his desperation, Françoise’s time is running out. Using corpse moths, and with Eugene’s help, she tracks Isaac’s movements, since the moths always return to their host body.
Meanwhile, Isaac attempts a blood transfusion from Tyler to Françoise, hoping to stabilize her condition.
Hester and Dort’s Plans
Hester invites Wednesday to spend the summer with her, suggesting distance from Morticia might help. Later, Dort pitches his vision to Hester: transforming Frump Tower into a school of mortuary sciences complete with a body farm. Hester refuses, until Bianca intervenes. By removing her siren amulet, Bianca manipulates Wednesday’s grandmother into donating everything to Nevermore.
Hester agrees and, as guest of honor, she will attend the upcoming Venetian Masquerade Gala.

Bianca confesses that she siren-songed Hester under Dort’s coercion and later Bianca sirens Wednesday. But Wednesday anticipated this, she had Agnes nearby to witness everything. Dort’s true plan: steal Hester’s fortune and flee. To cover his tracks, he kills Gideon.

- He forced Bianca to manipulate Hester.
- He held Gabrielle hostage.
- He killed Gideon.
Ajax’s snake petrifies Dort, and a falling chandelier finishes him.

Aftermath
Wednesday cancels her summer with Hester after hearing her grandmother’s cruel words about Gomez. Hester had suggested that Gomez was an inadequate husband to Morticia because, unlike most outcasts, he has no ability of his own. Offended on her father’s behalf, Wednesday turns down Hester’s invitation to stay with her.. In Gomez’s honor, Hester finally agrees to donate to Nevermore.
But there’s no peace: Eugene warns Wednesday that Isaac has been spotted at the Nevermore graveyard. At the same moment, the Addams family realizes Pugsley is missing. Isaac has kidnapped him.

She also insists Morticia turn to the family’s other raven, Hester, since the stakes are too high for pride.
The Truth About Isaac’s Past
In a shared vision, Wednesday sees a young Morticia and Gomez the night of Isaac’s accident. Morticia then shares the secret she and Gomez hide for many years:
- Isaac believed his machine could cure Françoise and prevent her from becoming a Hyde.
- To power it, he secretly intended to sacrifice Gomez, who once shared Pugsley’s electrifying ability.
- Morticia sabotaged the experiment to save Gomez. The explosion saved Françoise but killed Isaac, and permanently stripped Gomez of his outcast gift.
- Augustus Stoneheart threatened to expose them if they didn’t stay quiet, since he had funded the lab in secret. Isaac was buried in the grave he’d dug for Gomez beneath the Skull Tree.
Wednesday realizes Isaac intends to repeat the same experiment, this time with Pugsley as the power source.
Enid and Agnes
- Enid and Ajax begin mending their friendship after their breakup earlier in the season.
- Agnes says her goodbyes to Enid and Wednesday, seemingly leaving Nevermore, though not for long.

Isaac’s Challenge
Isaac sends Wednesday a message through Eugene: meet him at midnight beneath the Skull Tree. Wednesday arrives with Thing, planning for him to fire a crossbow bolt into Isaac’s brain. But Isaac intercepts the shot. Tyler captures Thingn and the truth is revealed:
Thing is actually Isaac’s severed hand.
The name “Thing” was an anagram for “Night.” Morticia cut it off, destabilizing the machine and triggering the fatal explosion.
Isaac reattaches the hand, becoming “complete” again. His first order is to kill Wednesday, burying her alive with the Skull Tree’s roots. Tyler is shaken by the sight of her being dragged underground.

Wednesday’s Rescue
Agnes, who never truly left Nevermore, witnesses everything while invisible. She runs to Enid for help. Together they try to dig Wednesday free, but it isn’t enough. Setting Up Season 3
Wednesday refuses to return home with her family. Instead, she sets out north with Uncle Fester and Thing to find Enid. But Agnes’s words linger: there may not even be a Nevermore to return to.
As Wednesday reads Ophelia’s journal, a new vision grips her: Ophelia may still be alive.
But this revelation is framed in a way only the audience sees.
Hester is shown entering a secret locked chamber in her home. Inside, we glimpse Ophelia alive but secluded, scribbling words across the wall: “Wednesday Must Die.”
The camera never reveals her face, only her back, and blonde hair, leaving the actress who will play her hidden. For now, only the audience sees this truth, Wednesday remains in the dark.
It’s an ominous reminder that the Addams family’s darkest secrets are not buried, but hidden in plain sight. For now, Wednesday doesn’t know the truth. This final beat is for the viewers alone, setting up Season 3 with one of the show’s most haunting cliffhangers yet.
That wraps up our Wednesday Season 2 Part 2 recap and sets the stage for Season 3, the season closes with Wednesday’s vow: to uncover every buried secret, or die trying.
Key Questions for Season 3
In the closing moments, Wednesday is left with her own gnawing doubts. It feels like she is interrogating herself, as much as the mysteries around her:
- Why did Wednesday spare Tyler instead of killing him — and will that act of mercy come back to haunt her?
- What role will Aunt Ophelia play now that she’s revealed to be alive, and why does she want Wednesday dead?
- Was Morticia’s gift of Ophelia’s diary an act of trust, or desperation?
- Will Enid return as Wednesday’s loyal friend, or will her alpha transformation change her forever?
- Can Nevermore survive, or has the school’s foundation already been fatally compromised?
- With Isaac gone, what new threat will rise to challenge the Addams family?
