Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Jackie Price has spent 20 years enjoying the fortune she made as a cocaine dealer while keeping her old life firmly behind her. That changes when someone hires the Seven Demons, a group of professional assassins, to kill her. Instead of disappearing again, Jackie decides to fight back.

Kill Jackie Season 1 Recap and Episode Guide
Jackie Price has built a very comfortable second life for herself. Twenty years after leaving the cocaine business, she deals in expensive art and operates secret auctions in Bilbao, where she even reserves the right to reject the highest bidder if she doesn’t like the person offering the money.
One of those decisions comes back to haunt her.
Jackie’s first warning that her past might have caught up with her comes in London, where a murder takes place in the apartment opposite hers. She suspects the killer may have targeted the wrong home. Her fears are confirmed when three masked men break into her apartment and try to kill her.
Jackie survives thanks to the security measures she already has in place, but she wants to know who ordered the attack. Her search leads her to Mr. Linden, whose records include his clients’ names and numbers. Jackie steals the information and soon learns that the situation is much bigger than one failed assassination.
The Seven Demons have accepted a contract on her life.
Karenina, who initially helps Jackie after the attack, is one of them. Once the contract officially begins, she becomes Jackie’s enemy. Another member, the Cuban, kills Billy while trying to find her, while Jackie discovers that Leo, the police officer she has been paying, betrayed her by helping the assassins gain access to her apartment.
Jackie kills Leo and escapes with her assistant Charlie and lawyer Sam.
Her plan is to liquidate her art collection and disappear, but Karenina destroys the collection in Bilbao. Oddly enough, Jackie is almost energized by what is happening. After two decades away from her former life, being hunted has brought back a part of her she thought she had left behind.
First, she needs to learn who paid to have her killed.
Jackie Discovers Who Put the Contract on Her
Jackie takes Charlie and Sam to a safehouse and finally tells Sam the truth about her former career. Charlie handles the revelation much better, even helping Jackie dig through Linden’s records.
Jackie also has another advantage: Poltergeist, the secret bank where she keeps her money. Its services extend far beyond holding her fortune, and Jackie uses its resources to stay ahead of the assassins.
Karenina uses Tucker to lure Jackie into a trap, but Jackie suspects something is wrong, and Charlie helps manipulate CCTV footage to misdirect the Cuban. Sam causes a separate problem when he accidentally starts a fire at the safehouse and leaves for the British Embassy, giving Karenina another way to find him. The Cuban gets to Sam first. Jackie intervenes and kills him, removing the first of the Seven Demons from the hunt.
Her investigation finally leads to Sean Harper, a wealthy young man Jackie previously refused to sell an artwork to because she disliked him. Sean was furious about the rejection and hired the Seven Demons to kill her.
Knowing who started this does not end the contract.
Jackie plans to send Charlie and Sam away on a cargo ship while she stays behind to deal with the assassins herself. Before Charlie leaves, she confronts Jackie about something much more personal. She has found evidence that Jackie was once pregnant and wonders whether Jackie could be her mother; she isn’t.
Charlie leaves hurt, but she never reaches safety. Jackie realizes too late that Charlie used a loyalty card that could be traced. One of the assassins, Li Dong, reaches her first and stabs her. Jackie gets to Charlie before she dies, but cannot save her.
Charlie’s death turns Jackie’s fight with the Seven Demons into something much more personal.
Jackie Starts Hunting the Seven Demons Herself
The truth about Jackie’s pregnancy goes back 20 years.
When she originally left the drug business, Jackie was shot while pregnant. She survived, gave birth, and left her baby behind at the hospital before disappearing.
In the present, grief sends Jackie after Charlie’s killer. She recruits Zigor, a former member of the Seven Demons whose own attempt to leave the organization cost him his wife. He initially wants nothing to do with Jackie’s revenge mission, but his history with the group eventually changes his mind.
Jackie tracks Li Dong through a Northern Soul record connected to his tattoo and deliberately draws him into a trap. Zigor handles the killing, while Jackie sends Karenina a message using Li Dong’s phone.
She is no longer waiting for the Demons to come to her; Jackie intends to kill them first.
The next targets are brothers Tuukka and Akilles Koss, but the Seven Demons are also attacking Jackie’s old identity. Cocaine bearing her former brand has appeared on the market again, part of an attempt to draw her out.
Sean is trying to copy the business Jackie built decades earlier. Jackie and Zigor sabotage his supply, leaving people at a club sick and bringing the police down on the operation.
At the same time, Don Markel is losing patience with the chaos surrounding Jackie. He wants her feud with the Seven Demons kept away from his family and territory.
Jackie has no intention of backing away. Instead of simply killing those coming after her, she decides to destroy the Seven Demons themselves.
Zigor gets them closer by approaching Akilles. The assassin thinks he can recruit Zigor back into the organization and reveals the name of the man at the top: Friedrich. Zigor kills Akilles and uses his phone to draw out Tuukka.
Their attempt to publicly kill Tuukka goes wrong. Jackie is shot, Karenina gets to Sam, and Jackie’s financial safety net suddenly begins collapsing. Money disappears from her accounts, and Poltergeist’s base in Iceland has been attacked.
With Don Markel also turning against her, Jackie is forced out of the safehouse. That sends her somewhere she has avoided for years: home.
Jackie Finds the Daughter She Abandoned
Jackie returns to Swansea and finds her father hiding at the crumbling family home.
Their reunion quickly becomes another crisis. He owes money, and Gwen, Col, and Aled arrive looking for him on Dai’s behalf. As everyone waits for Dai to show up, old family secrets begin coming out.
Gwen was adopted as a child and later ran away from her adoptive family. Jackie’s father eventually found her, although his reasons were hardly paternal. He wanted to use her for financial benefits. Jackie slowly realizes who Gwen is.
The baby she abandoned 20 years earlier is now standing in front of her: Gwen is Jackie’s daughter.
The discovery doesn’t lead to an instant reunion. Gwen is furious when she learns the truth and has every reason to resent the mother who left her behind.
There is little time to deal with any of it because Jackie’s father has betrayed her too. The Seven Demons gave him a phone and instructed him to contact them if Jackie ever returned. He did exactly that.
Friedrich is already watching the house. Dai is killed by a sniper shot when he arrives. Aled dies as well, and Col is shot trying to escape. Jackie’s father shows them a hidden exit and stays behind to buy them time.
Gwen does not leave with Jackie. After an explosion, Jackie hides and watches Gwen surrender herself to Friedrich. Gwen tells him she will help find Jackie because she wants her dead too. Jackie escapes Swansea alone.
Friedrich Wants More Than Jackie Dead
Jackie reconnects with Tucker, whose own history with Friedrich gives him a personal reason to join her. Friedrich killed Tucker’s wife, so taking him down is no longer simply a job.
Friedrich has bigger ambitions. He approaches Don Markel and proposes a partnership that would make the Seven Demons far more powerful. Instead of remaining assassins for hire, they could become an armed force supporting Markel’s drug operation.
Back at the Demons’ hideout, Sam is their prisoner, and Gwen is being kept under control. Karenina continues trying to locate Jackie while the other members increasingly pursue their own interests.
Jackie decides to put pressure on the Doc by stealing her dog.
The Doc responds by luring Jackie into a trap and poisoning her. Fascinated by Jackie, she wants to use her as a research subject, especially because she sees contradictory qualities in her behavior.
Jackie refuses to cooperate and instead starts working on the Doc, questioning her loyalty to Friedrich.
Elsewhere, Tuukka takes Sam into the woods and forces him to dig his own grave. Zigor reaches them but is captured himself. Sam, who has spent much of the season terrified by the violent world Jackie dragged him into, finally acts. He returns rather than running away and kills Tuukka.
Another Demon is gone. Jackie survives the poisoning and discovers that the Doc has left. Before she can get far, she finally faces Gwen again.
Their reunion lasts only moments; Karenina tasers them both.

Jackie and Gwen Fall Into Friedrich’s Hands
Karenina is ordered to bring Jackie and Gwen to Friedrich’s new estate, which he acquires through his deal with Don Markel.
Gwen still refuses to forgive Jackie. She manages to free herself from her restraints inside Karenina’s van but leaves her mother tied up. Her escape attempt doesn’t last, and Karenina catches her. Sean’s problems are getting worse too.
His father discovers how much money he has spent and learns that his son hired professional assassins because an art dealer refused to sell him a painting. He cuts Sean off financially, leaving him unable to pay the Seven Demons.
Sean tries to cancel the contract, but Friedrich isn’t interested.
Desperate for money, Sean attempts to sell his cocaine and becomes tangled up with Don Markel’s son, who has his own reasons for opposing Friedrich after his father sells the family property to him.
The Doc captures Sean’s father and brings him to the estate. The arrival reveals another connection within the Seven Demons: she and Friedrich were once married.
Friedrich has deliberately avoided replacing the assassins Jackie has killed because he wants to change the organization.
Sean’s father tries to negotiate, but Friedrich learns that Sean will inherit his fortune when he dies. He kills him, solving Sean’s money problem in the worst possible way while ensuring there will eventually be money to pay for Jackie’s contract.
On the road, Jackie is about to receive help from an unexpected source: Poltergeist has found her.
Karenina kills one of its riders, but that only makes the situation worse for her. More Poltergeist riders close in, force the van to stop, and capture Karenina. For the first time in a while, Jackie isn’t the one being hunted.
Kill Jackie Ending Explained: What Happens in Episode 8?
Poltergeist’s intervention saves Jackie and Gwen from Karenina, but the organization hasn’t suddenly abandoned its neutral position out of loyalty to Jackie. This is personal for them too.
Ulla, who runs Poltergeist, explains that Karenina destroyed their base and servers. She also killed one of their riders, someone Poltergeist considered family, so they retaliate.
Karenina is killed, settling their score with her.
Poltergeist agrees to help Jackie again, but at a price. Jackie spends all of her remaining cryptocurrency on the organization’s full security package, giving her access to a heavily equipped safehouse.
She has lost most of the fortune that protected her for years, but she finally has somewhere to prepare for Friedrich.

Does Jackie Make Peace With Don Markel?
Don Markel’s son escapes Friedrich and crosses paths with Jackie. She saves him and brings him home, which gives Jackie and Don Markel a chance to repair their relationship. Both admit where they went wrong, and Markel becomes an ally again.
He also allows Jackie to use his docks so Poltergeist can deliver the new safehouse.
Her team is beginning to come together, though Zigor no longer wants what Jackie does.
His near-death experience during the fight with Tuukka has changed him. He sees his late wife and comes away believing that she would want him to find peace rather than spend his life pursuing revenge.
Jackie reminds him that Friedrich killed her; Zigor still decides he is finished with killing. By the time Friedrich eventually reaches the safehouse, Zigor has left.
Why Does Sean Join Jackie?
Sean has spent most of the season as the person responsible for Jackie’s problems. His wounded pride over an art sale is what started the Seven Demons contract in the first place.
Now Friedrich has killed his father. Sam and Zigor find Sean locked in the trunk of Friedrich’s car and bring him back to Jackie. Sean regrets ever hiring the assassins and wants revenge on Friedrich.
He may also solve Jackie’s newest problem.
Jackie has spent her remaining money securing the safehouse, while Sean is now due to inherit billions from his father. Jackie agrees to let him join them on the condition that his money becomes theirs once he receives the inheritance.
The man who paid to have Jackie killed has somehow ended up on her team.

Does the Doc Betray Friedrich?
The Doc’s interest in Jackie has been growing since their confrontation.
She wants to understand Jackie and is fascinated by the combination of cruelty and humanity she sees in her. Jackie uses that fascination to bring her over to their side.
She agrees to become the Doc’s test subject; in exchange, the Doc will help her kill Friedrich.
Their plan is to blow him up in the Doc’s car, but Friedrich discovers the betrayal before they can finish him. That leaves Gwen as his best weapon against Jackie.
Gwen is still carrying years of anger over being abandoned by her mother. Friedrich takes advantage of it, paying her a deposit for the safehouse address and promising the rest afterward. She gives him what he needs.

Does Gwen Really Betray Jackie?
Friedrich uses the Doc to get Jackie out of the safehouse and then holds Gwen at gunpoint.
Jackie and the others are captured.
Friedrich takes the group to an abandoned house in the desert with a bomb strapped to his body. He places a gun where everyone can reach it and offers them a brutal choice: the first person willing to shoot someone else can leave.
It is a final attempt to prove what these people will do when survival is all that matters: nobody takes the deal.
Friedrich prepares to detonate the bomb and kill all of them when Zigor returns. Despite walking away from revenge earlier, he arrives with a drone and attacks Friedrich. Using one of the knives his late wife gave him, Zigor kills the man responsible for her death.
Jackie survives, while Friedrich doesn’t; with him gone, Jackie’s war against the Seven Demons is finally over.

Who Survives the Kill Jackie Finale?
The finale jumps forward one week after Friedrich’s death.
Jackie has somehow come out of the Seven Demons contract with something she didn’t have at the start of the season: a group of people around her. The surviving group includes Jackie, Gwen, the Doc, Zigor, Sean, Sam and Tucker.
Jackie and Gwen’s relationship has survived everything that happened between them, giving Jackie another chance with the daughter she abandoned 20 years ago. Sam has also made it through the chaos despite spending much of the season horrified by Jackie’s world, while Sean has gone from paying for her death to joining her crew.
There is one practical problem. Sean’s inheritance isn’t available yet because his family is contesting his father’s will.
For Jackie, that simply means they need another way to make money.

What Does Jackie Decide to Do at the End of Kill Jackie?
Jackie and Zigor aren’t planning to walk away from the Seven Demons; they want to take it over.
Their idea is to claim the Seven Demons’ name, rebuild the organization, and run it themselves. The very group hired to kill Jackie could now become hers.
First, however, they need cash. With Sean’s billions tied up in a dispute over his father’s will, Jackie already has a solution.
Their next job is to rob a private bank in Zurich.
It is a fitting place to leave Jackie. She starts the series wealthy, protected, and supposedly retired from the criminal life she left two decades earlier. The attempt to kill her strips away that security and costs her Charlie, but it also forces her to confront the daughter she abandoned and the past she had spent years keeping at a distance.
Jackie doesn’t finish the season by returning to the quiet life she had before the Seven Demons found her. She builds a new crew and goes back into business.
While Season 1 is presented as a limited series adapting the novel The Price You Pay, more material already exists. Author Nick Harkaway followed the novel with Seven Demons, giving the series a possible path forward if it returns for another season. With Jackie ending the finale with a new crew and another job already in mind, a second season would have plenty to work with.
