Brad Pitt is back as Cliff Booth, this time under the direction of David Fincher. Netflix has released the official trailer for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth and confirmed that the film will open in IMAX cinemas globally on November 25, 2026, before arriving on Netflix on December 23.
Quentin Tarantino, who introduced the character in Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, wrote the screenplay. The new film picks up eight years after Cliff’s encounter with the Manson family in Tarantino’s alternate version of 1969.
The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth gets two 2026 release dates
The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth will first receive an exclusive two-week run in IMAX cinemas beginning November 25. It will then become available to stream on Netflix on December 23, giving the film both a theatrical window and a holiday release on the platform.
Netflix announced the two dates alongside the official trailer and an image of Pitt as Cliff Booth.
The story moves forward to Los Angeles in 1977. Cliff is no longer working only as a stuntman. He now earns money bartending and working as a projectionist while also acting as a fixer for people in Hollywood, sometimes relying on methods that fall well outside the law.
His latest situation begins when talent agent Karen Crosby, played by Elizabeth Debicki, contacts him on behalf of her client Charlie Peters. Scott Caan plays Charlie, a television star known for performing his own stunts.
Cliff is soon drawn into Charlie’s circle, which includes his wife Toni, played by Carla Gugino, and former professional football champion Roderick “Hot Rod” Harrison, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The story also introduces the Verdusco brothers, played by Matt Groove and JB Tadena, two mysterious gangsters causing trouble across Los Angeles.
Where Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood reworked the events of 1969 as a Hollywood fairytale, Netflix describes Cliff’s next chapter as a crime story involving violence, ambition and desire.
David Fincher directs from Quentin Tarantino’s screenplay
David Fincher directs The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth from Tarantino’s original screenplay. Ceán Chaffin and Brad Pitt serve as producers.
The film also reunites Fincher with several frequent collaborators. Erik Messerschmidt is the director of photography, Donald Graham Burt is the production designer and Kirk Baxter edited the film. Trish Summerville designed the costumes, while Ren Klyce handled sound design.
The additional cast includes Peter Weller, Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian. Laray Mayfield oversaw casting, with Dave Macomber serving as stunt coordinator.
The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth will be released in IMAX cinemas globally on November 25, 2026, followed by its Netflix debut on December 23.
