Paramount+ has started production on The Best of Us, its new six-episode limited series starring Jeremy Strong. Filming is now underway in New York City, with LaChanze, Richard Schiff, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Joe Morton, Jen Tullock, William Baldwin and Keith W. Richards joining the cast as guest stars.
The series is inspired by the years-long legal fight to secure compensation for first responders who became seriously ill following the September 11 attacks. Strong, who also serves as an executive producer, leads a cast that already includes Andrea Riseborough, Barry Pepper, Neal Huff, Gaby Hoffmann and Sky Yang.
The Best of Us Cast Expands as Production Begins
Paramount+ announced the start of production alongside seven new additions to The Best of Us.
LaChanze (The Blacklist), Richard Schiff (The West Wing), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Orange Is the New Black), Joe Morton (Scandal), Jen Tullock (Severance), William Baldwin (Disaster Strike Force) and Keith W. Richards (Uncut Gems) will all appear as guest stars.
They join Jeremy Strong, Andrea Riseborough, Barry Pepper, Neal Huff, Gaby Hoffmann and Sky Yang. Paramount+ has not provided character details for the newly announced guest cast.
Strong comes to the series after his Emmy-winning run as Kendall Roy on Succession. His recent credits also include Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere and The Apprentice.
What Is The Best of Us About?
The Best of Us dramatizes the legal battle to secure compensation for first responders who became gravely ill following 9/11.
According to Paramount+, the fight lasted nearly a decade and eventually secured almost $1 billion in compensation. The six-episode series will center on that legal case and the effort to hold those responsible accountable.
Tobias Lindholm writes, directs, and executive produces the limited series. His previous credits include The Investigation and A War. Frank Pugliese, whose credits include House of Cards, also writes and executive produces.
Strong serves as an executive producer alongside Tony Hernandez. Paramount Television Studios and SISTER are producing the series.
Paramount+ has not announced a premiere date for The Best of Us.
