Netflix has released the official Lupin Part 4 trailer along with new images ahead of the series’ return on October 23. The new season picks up four years after Part 3, with Assane still in prison and ready to leave Lupin behind, until someone else starts committing crimes in his name.
The Lupin Part 4 trailer introduces a copycat
Four years have passed since the end of the previous part, and Assane is still serving his prison sentence. He intends to keep the promise he made to his son and, once released, reunite with his family in Senegal.
Then a mysterious announcement signed by Lupin changes everything. Multiple museums are targeted for simultaneous heists, and despite increased security, the robberies go exactly as planned. Assane insists he had nothing to do with them, but the evidence points directly at him.
There is even footage apparently showing Assane inside one of the museums during a robbery that leaves Captain Belkacem seriously injured.
With someone committing crimes as Lupin and making sure Assane takes the blame, staying in prison is no longer an option. He has to escape, find the copycat, and become Lupin again to prove his innocence.
Lupin Part 4 has eight episodes
Omar Sy returns as Assane alongside Ludivine Sagnier, Antoine Gouy, Soufiane Guerrab, Shirine Boutella, Théo Christine and Laïka Blanc-Francard.
Part 4 consists of eight 45-minute episodes.
George Kay created the series in collaboration with François Uzan, with the participation of Marie Roussin, Florent Meyer and Tigran Rosine. The new episodes are written by Mathilde Arnaud, Jean-Yves Arnaud, Tigran Rosine and Florent Meyer, with Edouard Salier, Everardo Gout and Hugo Gélin directing.
As with the previous parts, the series is freely inspired by Maurice Leblanc’s Arsène Lupin character.
Lupin Part 4 premieres October 23 on Netflix.
