Brothers Puts a Very Different Spin on McConaughey and Harrelson’s Friendship
The premise of Brothers starts with the pair’s friendship but quickly turns it into a family mystery.
After Woody’s daughter’s engagement falls apart, he packs up his family and heads to Austin for an extended stay at Matthew’s ranch. What is supposed to be a chance for everyone to recover takes a turn when Matthew’s mother, Ma Mac, played by Holland Taylor, accidentally reveals a decades-old secret. Matthew and Woody might actually be brothers.
Woody immediately wants answers and begins searching for the truth, causing plenty of disruption at the ranch along the way. Matthew, meanwhile, has something else occupying his attention: he’s considering a run for governor of Texas.
That leaves both men dealing with very different questions about who they are, while the possibility that their friendship could actually be a family relationship hangs over everything.
