Bad Monkey Season 2 officially has a release date. The Vince Vaughn comedy returns to Apple TV on Wednesday, December 2, 2026, with a new story, new cast members and another Florida mystery for Andrew Yancy to get caught up in.
Apple also released the first images from the new season, which will once again consist of 10 episodes.
Unlike the first season, however, Season 2 isn’t adapting another Carl Hiaasen novel. Creator Bill Lawrence and the writers have come up with an original story that continues Yancy’s life after the events of Season 1.
When Does Bad Monkey Season 2 Come Out?
Bad Monkey Season 2 premieres globally on Apple TV on December 2, 2026.
Only the first episode will be available on premiere day. The remaining episodes will arrive weekly on Wednesdays, with the season finale scheduled for February 3, 2027.

What Is Bad Monkey Season 2 About?
Andrew Yancy is still trying to get his detective’s badge back, and apparently the road there involves another murder.
Season 2 begins after Yancy witnesses the murder of a prominent Florida fixer. An ambitious state attorney pairs him with a forensic accountant to investigate, pulling Yancy into a conflict between rival criminal organizations.
Along the way, he encounters a mob boss, the mob boss’s volatile son, and a young woman who needs his protection.
His personal life isn’t getting any simpler either. Yancy has to deal with his aging father while the unresolved tension between him and Dr. Rosa Campesino continues. Rosa, meanwhile, becomes involved in an investigation of her own after a mysterious rash begins appearing.
There’s also an animal-relocation specialist whose business threatens the local environment, adding another problem to Yancy’s already crowded list.
Vince Vaughn and Natalie Martinez Return Alongside New Cast Members
Vince Vaughn returns as Andrew Yancy and continues as an executive producer on the series.
Natalie Martinez is also back as Rosa Campesino, with Charlotte Lawrence and John Ortiz returning for Season 2.
The new season adds John Malkovich, Yvonne Strahovski and Zavior Phillips to the main cast.
There is also a sizeable group of guest stars: Nate Jackson, Sofia Boutella, Brent Morin, Joey Avery, Dax Shepard, Sam Jaeger, Margarita Levieva, Peter Billingsley and June Diane Raphael.
Season 2 Moves Beyond Carl Hiaasen’s Original Novel
The first season of Bad Monkey was based on Carl Hiaasen’s 2013 novel of the same name. Season 2 takes a different route, with Apple confirming that the 10 episodes will tell an all-new original story.
Hiaasen remains involved with the series as an executive producer.
Bill Lawrence continues as developer, showrunner and executive producer through Doozer Productions. Jeff Ingold, Matt Tarses, Vaughn, Liza Katzer, Adam Sztykiel, Chris Downey and Hiaasen also executive produce.
