Hollywood Arts picks up with Trina years after her time as a student at the school at the center of Victorious.
Her acting career isn’t going particularly well, and she returns to Hollywood Arts as an unqualified substitute teacher. That puts Trina on the other side of the classroom with a new group of students hoping to build careers of their own.
Unsurprisingly, she doesn’t immediately settle into the job. Netflix’s official description says Trina clashes with the students but also unexpectedly inspires them as they try to figure out what they want for their futures at the performing arts school.
It’s a setup that allows Hollywood Arts to keep a direct connection to Victorious through Trina while introducing a new generation of characters rather than simply putting the original students back in the same place.
