Why Netflix Is Expanding Into Publisher Content

Netflix says the initiative is intended to give members more ways to stay connected to stories, personalities, and topics they enjoy.

John Derderian, Vice President of Animation Series and Kids & Family TV, who oversees the project, explained the thinking behind the move:

“Members don’t just want to watch a show or film and move on. They want to keep exploring the stories and personalities they love long after the final credits roll.”

According to Derderian, these partnerships are intended to create more opportunities for viewers to continue engaging with the people, conversations, and interests that already resonate with them.

The launch represents another step in Netflix’s continued expansion into different forms of entertainment and lifestyle content.
