Paramount+ confirmed that The Madison had already been renewed for Season 2 in a March 26, 2026 press release celebrating the show’s early viewing numbers.
The six-part first season premiered on March 14, 2026, and drew eight million global views during its first ten days. According to Paramount+, that made it the largest first-season launch for any Taylor Sheridan series on the platform. It was also Sheridan’s most-watched debut among women over 35 and ranked as the most-viewed original streaming season during its first week, based on Luminate data.
The announcement came only days after the Season 1 finale, but the decision to continue the show had been made much earlier. In fact, production had already completed the second season before viewers met the Clyburn family.
The Madison Season 2 Has Already Been Filmed
Unlike most returning dramas, The Madison does not need to wait for production to begin. Season 2 has already wrapped filming.
Kurt Russell revealed that his schedule on Apple TV+’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters initially made it difficult for him to join the series. Taylor Sheridan and Michelle Pfeiffer worked with Paramount+ to reorganize production, allowing Russell to film material for the first two seasons during the same production period.
That does not mean both complete seasons were filmed simultaneously from beginning to end. The flashbacks are likely to remain important as Stacy learns more about the Montana life Preston had been building for their family. Her final conversation with Cade also shows that she is preparing for the practical realities of staying. She agrees to learn how to safely use the gun beside her and asks where she can buy clothes suited to life in Montana.
Still, her return does not mean her grief has ended. The next season will deal with the difference between finding comfort in the place Preston loved and actually creating a life there without him.
