Is It Cake? Holiday is officially back for its second seasonal edition, returning November 25, 2025.
The series once again centers on the playful challenge that made it a surprise hit: can hyper-realistic cakes truly fool the eye, even up close?
Hosted by Mikey Day, the holiday special brings together six All-Star cake artists in a format that balances competition, craft, and light seasonal humor.

All-Star Bakers Return for a Festive Round
This season features a curated group of six competitors: three past Is It Cake? alum and three highly respected cake artists from the professional baking world. Each brings a distinct visual style and approach to realism, which gives the competition a sharper edge than a typical novelty round.
With only three episodes, each roughly forty minutes, the pacing remains tight. There’s no filler. Each challenge asks the bakers to recreate familiar holiday objects, the sort of items we think we know by texture and weight: gift boxes, wreaths, ornaments, winter knickknacks. When the illusion works, it works because the baker understands not just shape, but surface, color, and the imperfections that make objects feel real.
Bakers competing this season:
Fernanda Abarca, Justin Salinas, Liz Marek, Melissa Alt, Paul Bosley, and Timbo Sullivan.

Mikey Day Returns as Host
Returning host Mikey Day once again anchors the show with his quick wit and improvisational humor. His strong rapport with the bakers is one of the show’s key strengths, as he balances genuine admiration for their skills with the absurdity of the premise.
Celebrity Judges Add Personality, Not Noise
The rotating celebrity judging table includes actors and comedians who react the way viewers do: curious, entertained. They are not positioned as technical authorities, which keeps the focus on the bakers rather than the panel.
Judges appearing across the season:
Dustin Milligan, Kel Mitchell, King Bach, Kristen Bell, Lacey Chabert, Lamorne Morris, Michael Urie, Pierson Fode, and Wendi McLendon-Covey.

The Stakes Are Higher, But the Format Holds
The prize pool remains $75,000, distributed through round wins and the finale. The structure is straightforward: make something that looks real enough to fool people. There’s no need for added twists.
A Reliable Seasonal Watch
Is It Cake? Holiday knows what works. Instead of trying to surprise viewers with format changes, Season 2 deepens craft and play. The appeal isn’t shock value but pleasure of noticing small details and the satisfaction of being wrong.
