Netflix has released the official trailer and key art for Troll 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Roar Uthaug’s 2022 monster hit.
The Troll 2 Netflix movie will premiere globally on December 1, 2025, bringing back the same blend of myth, spectacle, and Norwegian folklore that made the original a breakout success.

When a dangerous new troll is awakened, Norway faces a reckoning. The trailer hints at sweeping destruction and a darker tone this time around. Nora Tidemann, played by Ine Marie Wilmann, returns as the paleontologist-turned-heroine determined to prevent her homeland’s collapse. She’s joined once again by Andreas (Kim Falck) and Captain Kris (Mads Sjøgård Pettersen) as they confront the creature’s rampage across the country.
This time, the trio is forced to dig deeper into Norway’s ancient history to uncover how the legend began, and how it might end. With the help of new allies, they race against time to uncover the troll’s origin before its path of destruction consumes them all.

Roar Uthaug Returns to His Monster Roots
Director Roar Uthaug, who co-wrote the story with Espen Aukan, returns with a clear creative vision. Uthaug has described his fascination with Norwegian folklore as “a way to connect the natural beauty of the landscape with the darker stories we tell ourselves.”
His approach in Troll struck a balance between blockbuster energy and cultural depth, a tone he’s expected to refine even further in Troll 2.
