Netflix has officially announced that A Man on the Inside Season 2 will premiere on November 20, 2025.
The half-hour comedy, created by Michael Schur (The Good Place, Parks and Recreation), continues the story of Charles Nieuwendyk, played by Ted Danson, as he takes on another undercover mission.
The new season will include eight episodes, each running 30 minutes, and introduce several new characters who complicate Charles’ latest assignment.
What A Man on the Inside Season 2 Is About
The new season begins when Wheeler College president Jack Berenger (Max Greenfield) receives threatening messages and asks Charles to pose as a professor to uncover the blackmailer. As Charles investigates, his list of suspects grows, ranging from faculty rivals to wealthy alumni.
One possible link is billionaire Brad Vinick (Gary Cole), a Wheeler graduate whose large donation to the school comes with strings attached. As Charles sorts through motives and misdirections, his focus shifts when he meets Mona (Mary Steenburgen), a music teacher whose lively spirit stirs feelings he thought were gone after his wife’s death.
The season raises questions about trust, vulnerability, and the balance between duty and personal happiness.

Why Fans Are Excited

With new characters, a fresh undercover setting, and the addition of Mary Steenburgen opposite Danson, Season 2 is poised to deliver both comedic highlights and heartfelt moments.
Fans of The Good Place and Parks and Recreation will find Schur’s recognizable tone here, quirky but grounded, funny yet reflective.

Looking Ahead
With its November release, A Man on the Inside Season 2 is positioned as one of Netflix’s key comedy launches this fall. Viewers can expect teasers and interviews in the weeks ahead, building anticipation for Ted Danson’s return to undercover work.
Balancing mystery, humor, and new character dynamics, the season pushes Charles Nieuwendyk into fresh territory while keeping the tone that made the first season stand out.
A Man on the Inside Season 2 release date is November 20, 2025, only on Netflix.
