Netflix is turning up the heat this summer with a packed anime lineup, offering something for every type of viewer from longtime manga fans to casual newcomers.
During Anime Expo 2025, the platform previewed brand-new seasons, trailers, and first-look clips for several standout titles, many of which are headed to your queue this July.
Major Returning Titles
Among the biggest announcements were the return of BEASTARS: Final Season, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2, and Record of Ragnarok III. These series have already built loyal global followings, and their next chapters promise high-stakes action, emotional turns, and deeper dives into their complex storylines.
Fans of Sanrio’s iconic characters can also look forward to more from My Melody & Kuromi, expanding Netflix’s family-friendly anime offerings with a twist of magical charm.
What’s New on the Horizon
Netflix isn’t just bringing back fan favorites, it’s also debuting a slate of new series, including:
- The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity
- The Summer Hikaru Died
- SAKAMOTO DAYS
These fresh titles span everything from teen drama and supernatural suspense to slick action comedy. Each comes with its own distinct art style and tone, but all will follow a weekly release format beginning July 14, a shift that mirrors how anime traditionally airs in Japan and gives fans something to look forward to each week.
A Global Audience in Mind
More than half of Netflix’s subscribers watch anime, and the platform is actively working to make the genre more accessible across the world. These new and returning titles will be available in 33 languages, and several will also feature audio descriptions, a step toward more inclusive storytelling.
Netflix’s growing anime catalog continues to reflect its strategy: giving global stories a global audience, without sacrificing the cultural roots that made them so beloved in the first place.
SAKAMOTO DAYS
July 14, Season 1, Part 2, New episodes weekly
Once the greatest hit man of all, Taro Sakamoto retired in the name of love. But when his past catches up, he must fight to protect his beloved family.
Based on the original manga, Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump, by Yuto Suzuki.

My Melody & Kuromi
Get ready for a delightful adventure as My Melody & Kuromi brings the beloved Sanrio characters to life in a charming stop-motion animation series. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of My Melody and the 20th anniversary of Kuromi, the series takes viewers on an adventure in Mariland, their whimsical home.
The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity
The story takes place in a town divided by rivalry. On one side is Chidori High, a boys’ school made up mostly of underachievers and rule-breakers. Just next door is Kikyo Girls’ High, where students come from elite families and carry themselves with pride and polish. The tension between the two schools runs deep, setting the stage for a clash of backgrounds, values, and—maybe—unexpected connections.
Adapted from The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, the original manga by Saka Mikami.
Record of Ragnarok
The clash between gods and humans reaches its next chapter with 13 head-to-head battles that will decide the fate of humanity. With the score tied at 3-3, the stakes have never been higher. The seventh match marks a turning point—one that could shift the entire course of the tournament. Expect brutal fights, high emotions, and unwavering determination as legendary figures from both realms face off.
Adapted from the manga Record of Ragnarok, created by Shinya Umemura, with story structure by Takumi Fukui and illustrations by Azychika.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2
Coming Soon
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new stand-alone, 10-episode story from the world of Cyberpunk 2077 — a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge. In a city that thrives in the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, how far do you have to go to make your story matter?

BEASTARS
Coming in 2026, Final Season, Part 2
After the confrontation with Riz, Legoshi steps away from school life and moves into the modest Beast Apartments, determined to start over on his own terms. Louis, now graduated and no longer part of the Young BEASTARS, prepares to face his adoptive father, Ogma, once and for all. Meanwhile, Haru continues her campus life, navigating a constant stream of challenges that refuse to let up.
Elsewhere, current BEASTAR Yahya is on the trail of Melon, a dangerous hybrid with a thirst for violence and chaos. But as Melon’s crimes escalate, an unexpected link to Legoshi’s family past begins to surface—one that will connect their fates in a way no one could have predicted.
Set in a society where carnivores and herbivores live side by side, BEASTARS explores identity, instinct, and the complicated path to adulthood. The long-awaited final season marks the beginning of the end for this powerful coming-of-age story.
Adapted from the manga BEASTARS by Paru Itagaki, originally published by Akita Shoten (Shonen Champion Comics).
