Netflix is officially heading back to Texas. Ransom Canyon, the slow-burn western drama that blends land disputes, buried secrets, and long-simmering romance, has been renewed for a second season. The announcement comes after the series spent four weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10 (English TV) list, charting in 77 countries.
Series creator and showrunner April Blair celebrated the news with a nod to fans:

Ransom Canyon has quickly joined the ranks of Netflix’s most popular “comfort drama” series, finding its place alongside Virgin River, Sweet Magnolias, and The Lincoln Lawyer. Season 2 Returns to Netflix Studios Albuquerque
Season 2 production will once again take place at Netflix Studios in Albuquerque, which recently expanded to include four new soundstages. The updated facilities now feature sustainable upgrades like geothermal heating and cooling, onsite solar storage, and fast EV chargers, part of Netflix’s broader effort to produce content in a more climate-conscious way.

At the center is Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel), a rancher haunted by personal tragedy and torn between justice and vengeance. His only emotional anchor is Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly), the strong-willed owner of the town’s dance hall and someone who’s known Staten and his demons for years.
