Madea Heads to the Bahamas in Tyler Perry’s New Netflix Film Releasing July 11

Netflix is bringing back one of its most recognizable comedy icons this summer.

Madea’s Destination Wedding, the latest installment from writer-director Tyler Perry, premieres globally on July 11, 2025, and promises a sun-soaked mix of chaos, family drama, and heart.

The Plot

Brian and his ex-wife Debrah are blindsided when their daughter Tiffany announces she’s getting married to a rapper she just met on a yacht. And the wedding? It’s happening in two weeks. Cue Madea, who isn’t about to sit this one out. She grabs her crew and heads straight for the Bahamas to stop the madness (or at least stir up some of her own). What follows is a whirlwind of family confrontations, sharp one-liners, unexpected bonding, and tropical misadventures.

Returning Favorites and Fresh Faces

The film stars Tyler Perry as Madea, along with fan-favorite cast members Cassi Davis Patton, David Mann, and Tamela Mann. Joining the ensemble this time are Taja V. Simpson, Diamond White, Jermaine Harris, and Xavier Smalls.

As always, Perry handles both writing and directing duties, continuing his long-standing partnership with producers Angi Bones and Yolanda T. Cochran.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the Madea universe, this film sticks to what Perry does best: bringing multigenerational families together under one roof (or island) and letting the sparks fly. It’s escapism with bite wrapped in jokes, dresses, and a whole lot of attitude.
