Netflix’s live-action One Piece is expanding its world in a big way.
During Netflix Tudum 2025: The Live Event, fans were treated to a surprise first look at one of the franchise’s most beloved characters, Tony Tony Chopper, as well as the reveal of over 20 new cast members joining the hit series in Season 2, which will premiere in 2026.
Chopper Enters the Chat, With a Twist

It’s official: Tony Tony Chopper, the Straw Hat Pirates’ quirky, blue-nosed doctor, will make his live-action debut next season. Netflix confirmed that Mikaela Hoover (Beef, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) will voice the character and also perform facial capture to help bring Chopper to life. The unique hybrid of CGI and performance will allow the character to maintain his distinct look while giving him grounded expression and presence.
The casting announcement was made live on stage by the returning cast, including Iñaki Godoy (Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji), who were on hand to share an early glimpse of Chopper’s design with fans.

What to Expect in Season 2
While plot details are still under wraps, Season 2 is expected to follow the next arc in Eiichiro Oda’s legendary manga, introducing the Drum Island storyline and building toward the Alabasta saga, both of which prominently feature Chopper and several of the newly announced characters.
With its growing scale, the second season promises deeper lore, bigger fights, and stronger emotional threads. Given the live-action series’ global success in 2023, expectations for its follow-up are high, and the cast announcements only fuel the excitement.
