Barbarians, builders, and battle-ready banter, the world of Clash is heading to your screen in a whole new way.
Netflix announced a major new project that brings one of mobile gaming’s most iconic universes to life. World of CLASH, a brand-new animated series based on Supercell’s wildly popular Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, is officially in the works and currently in pre-production.
This marks the first time the Finnish gaming giant is adapting its signature franchise into a long-form animated series. For fans who’ve spent over a decade building villages, launching hog riders, and dropping spell cards, the wait is finally over.
What We Know About the Series
World of CLASH centers around a determined but slightly out-of-his-depth Barbarian who must unite a team of misfit characters to defend their village and make sense of the world’s hilariously chaotic war politics. Expect irreverent humor, over-the-top action, and the same satirical tone that fans have come to love from Supercell’s YouTube shorts and in-game events.
Behind the scenes, the creative team brings both pedigree and deep familiarity with the source material:
- Showrunner: Fletcher Moules, who previously directed Supercell’s beloved Clash animated shorts, which have racked up hundreds of millions of views online. His previous TV credits include Entergalactic and Agent Elvis.
- Head Writer: Ron Weiner, known for his work on 30 Rock, Silicon Valley, Futurama, and Arrested Development.
- Animation Studio: Vancouver’s ICON Creative Studio, one of the leading names in high-quality animated content.
A Franchise With Massive Reach
Since launching in 2012, Clash of Clans and its 2016 follow-up, Clash Royale, have become global juggernauts. Together, the two games have been downloaded more than four billion times and played for over 180 billion hours worldwide. That staggering number speaks not only to the game’s longevity but also to the community’s deep investment in the universe and its quirky characters.
As Curtis Lelash, Head of Film & TV at Supercell, put it:
“They’ve been asking for a CLASH series forever, and we’re beyond excited to finally say: it’s happening!”
Netflix’s Vice President of Animation Series, John Derderian, echoed the excitement:
“Working with the incredible team at Supercell, Fletcher Moules, and Ron Weiner, we’re bringing all the fun, chaos and spirit of the world of CLASH to life in a whole new way.”
Netflix’s Expanding Animation Lineup
World of CLASH joins a fast-growing list of animated titles on Netflix geared toward action and gaming fans, including Arcane, Blue Eye Samurai, Sonic Prime, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, and the upcoming Stranger Things: Tales From ’85.
By partnering with Supercell, Netflix continues to deepen its footprint in video game IP storytelling, a strategy that has paid off well with adaptations like Castlevania and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
What’s Next?
While there’s no premiere date yet, World of CLASH is already one of the most anticipated animated releases on the horizon. Fans can expect more updates soon, likely through official Netflix channels and Supercell’s Clash of Clans and Clash Royale YouTube accounts.
For now, you might want to upgrade those walls, the CLASH universe is about to go widescreen.
