My Life with the Walter Boys Renewed for Season 3, Before Season 2 Even Drops

Netflix isn’t waiting around. Before Season 2 has even hit screens, My Life with the Walter Boys has already scored a Season 3 renewal.

The teen drama, based on Ali Novak’s bestselling Wattpad novel, has clearly made a strong impression, and it’s not done yet. Season 3 is officially in the works and slated to premiere sometime in 2026.

The early renewal speaks volumes about the confidence Netflix has in the show’s future. According to showrunner and executive producer Melanie Halsall, there’s still plenty of story left to explore.

“I still believe in the heart of this series,” Halsall shared in an interview. “We’ve got this great cast of characters, and I think there’s real room to grow, especially if we lean into the different generations within the Walter family.”

From Wattpad to Worldwide

Season 1 of My Life with the Walter Boys quickly found its audience. It held a spot in Netflix’s Global English Top 10 for eight straight weeks and broke into the Top 10 rankings in 88 countries. Viewers were drawn in by the heartfelt story of Jackie Howard (Nikki Rodriguez), a Manhattan teenager suddenly uprooted from her glamorous life and dropped into rural Colorado after tragedy strikes.

Jackie moves in with her new guardians, Katherine (Sarah Rafferty), her late mother’s best friend, and Katherine’s husband, George (Marc Blucas), and their 10 children. Yes, ten. While trying to adjust to small-town life and a very full house, Jackie stays focused on her Princeton dreams… even as she becomes emotionally tangled with two very different Walter brothers: sweet, steady Alex (Ashby Gentry) and the moody, magnetic Cole (Noah LaLonde).

Season 1 wrapped with a dramatic twist, as Jackie boards a plane back to New York, leaving her future with the Walter family (and her love life) in question.

What’s Coming in Season 2?

The cast expands in Season 2, welcoming a number of new characters alongside returning fan favorites. Connor Stanhope, Johnny Link, Corey Fogelmanis, Jaylan Evans, Zoë Soul, Isaac Arellanes, Myles Perez, Ashley Tavares, Dean Petriw, Alix West Lefler, Lennix James, Alisha Newton, Ellie O’Brien, Kolton Stewart, Mya Lowe, Gabrielle Jacinto, Jesse Lipscombe, and Nathaniel Arcand are all set to appear.

With Season 2 expected to premiere later in 2025, fans won’t have to wait too long to see where Jackie’s story goes next. And with Season 3 already greenlit, it looks like there’s a lot more life (and drama) left in Silver Falls.

Ali Novak Continues Jackie’s Journey in My Return to the Walter Boys

Author Ali Novak has officially continued Jackie Howard’s journey in a sequel novel, My Return to the Walter Boys, released in April 2025. The story picks up after Jackie’s summer away in New York, where she tried to create distance from Cole following their intense goodbye at the end of My Life with the Walter Boys. Though she stopped texting him, Cole never really left her mind, and now that she’s back at the ranch, avoiding him proves more difficult than she expected. With Cole still around before he heads off to college, Jackie finds herself facing unresolved feelings and the emotional fallout of her choices.

It’s important to note that the events of Novak’s sequel won’t be adapted into Season 2 of the Netflix series. As the author has confirmed, the books and show are taking separate narrative paths, giving fans two unique ways to experience the world of the Walter family.

The show is executive produced by Ed Glauser, Becky Hartman Edwards, and Melanie Halsall. It’s produced by Sony Pictures Television International Production and iGeneration Studios, the team behind The Kissing Booth trilogy.

Stay tuned, and don’t be surprised if this small-town saga keeps growing.
