Netflix Drops Trailer for Dept. Q — Scott Frank’s Dark Crime Drama Premieres May 29

Netflix has revealed the premiere date and first images from Dept. Q, a gripping new crime series from Scott Frank, the writer-director behind The Queen’s Gambit.

Set to debut on May 29, the series features Matthew Goode in the lead role and offers a character-driven look at justice, redemption, and the long shadows cast by unsolved crimes.

About the Series: A Fresh Take on Cold Cases

DCI Carl Morck is a brilliant detective—but a terrible colleague. After a shooting that leaves one officer dead and another paralyzed, Morck is sidelined and reassigned to the newly formed Department Q, a cold case unit hidden away in the basement of the Edinburgh police department. Initially dismissed as a PR move, the assignment begins to shift when an old case resurfaces, forcing Morck to form an unlikely team of misfits determined to prove their worth—and dig up long-buried truths.
