Netflix has officially announced the return of its genre-defining fantasy drama The Sandman, based on the acclaimed DC Comics series by Neil Gaiman, Sam Keith, and Mike Dringenberg.
The second and final season arrives in two volumes, starting July 3, 2025, and concluding with Volume 2 on July 24, 2025.
With 11 new episodes in total, Season 2 continues Dream’s journey through myth, memory, and mortality—where the stakes are as personal as they are cosmic.
Release Schedule
- Volume 1: Premieres July 3, 2025 (6 episodes)
- Volume 2: Premieres July 24, 2025 (5 episodes)
This two-part release allows the season’s dense narrative arcs and character revelations to unfold across a more extended timeline, building anticipation and giving fans time to absorb the emotional and visual complexity of the series.

What to Expect in Season 2
Following the fallout from Season 1, Dream of the Endless (Tom Sturridge) is forced to face a series of choices that may reshape the universe as he knows it. The season explores themes of accountability, change, and the tension between duty and emotion. As he attempts to rebuild the Dreaming and repair fractured relationships, Dream finds himself at odds with gods, monsters, and his own kind.
Allan Heinberg offered a glimpse into Dream’s inner struggle:
“The Endless are supposed to be just that: endless. They’re not supposed to change. But change is, of course, inevitable and essential to all life. Which is something Dream refuses to accept—at first.”
