Season 2 Recap

The season opens with Ginny and her younger brother, Austin, living with their father, Zion, in Boston. Ginny grapples with the shocking news of her mother Georgia’s involvement in her stepfather Kenny’s death, triggering anxiety and leading her to self-harm. Upon returning to Wellsbury, she begins therapy to confront her mental health issues. Additionally, Ginny reconnects with her neighbor Marcus and faces the challenges of teenage friendships with Max, Abby, and Norah.

Georgia is resolute in keeping up the appearance of a flawless existence in Wellsbury. She is engaged to Mayor Paul Randolph and is in the midst of planning their wedding. Nevertheless, her past resurfaces as private investigator Gabriel Cordova investigates her background, revealing former marriages and questionable deaths. The reappearance of Austin’s father, Gil, adds more layers of trouble, exposing a history of abuse and financial scams.

The Miller family encounters various challenges as hidden truths come to light. Ginny challenges Georgia regarding her past behavior, leading to heightened tension yet cultivating a stronger bond between mother and daughter. Meanwhile, Austin observes troubling incidents, such as Georgia’s connection to the death of Tom, Cynthia Fuller’s terminally ill spouse, further intensifying the family’s stress.

The season concludes with Georgia and Paul’s wedding. Just when it appears that Georgia is on the verge of realizing her dream of a stable life, law enforcement disrupts the festivities by arresting her for the murder of Tom Fuller. This unexpected twist casts doubt on the family’s future and lays the groundwork for the upcoming season.
