Virgin River season 5 is set to debut this fall and a sixth season has been already officially announced, with Production Weekly setting the filming for this summer, (no starting date yet), only if and when the WGA strike will be over.
What can we expect in the next 12 episodes? Hopefully some answers to some long-awaited questions, maybe, time will fly a little quicker in town?
Back in November 2022 we announced McClure, Hogan, Gatien and Maiolo as new addition in some capacity to season 5.

We can also report some returning cast members to Season 5:

What can we expect?
Robyn Carr’s readers have a good advantage, as there are multiple storylines and spoilers that can be spotted, but, since they are considered spoilers we can’t talk about them.
Patrick Sean Smith takes over the role of showrunner from Sue Taney, who left at the end of the fourth season, the writers’ group has some new entries as well with Thomas Ian Griffith, Mary Page Keller, John Lowe, Erin Cardillo, and Richard Keith. Cardillo and Keith assume the role of co-executive producers too.
We already know season 5 picks up immediately after the events of the season 4 finale ( no time jump, just yet). Jack is not the father of the twins, who is it then? We are confident the viewers will get an answer. The long-running joke of Charmaine being one of the longest pregnant women on television is getting old and quite tedious, if you ask us, we hope to see those twins being born.
Calvin is back from the dead and that information alone should worry you.
Mel and Jack, without a doubt, are the fans’ favorite, and the main reason, so many people turn to the show. After resolving the paternity question last season and with a baby girl on the way, we can see them as a united front against Melissa and every other event that will cross their path. They are getting ready to start their family and possibly a new home, in a wonderful and meaningful place in Virgin River.

New love stories are on the horizon for many characters.
Will Brie and Brady love story last or could Mike get a real chance in Season 5?
Preacher needs some happiness and love. It’s unclear if writing Paige out from the second season until the end of season 4 was the plan from the beginning or if something happened behind the scenes, but we do think Paige and Preacher’s love story is doomed. We are not very much hopeful for Julia too.
We see McClure’s Kaia as a perfect match for Preacher. Kaia is described as a courageous woman with a sense of self and a big heart. Her job? We are sorry but it’s too much of a spoiler.
Another couple on the horizon destined to make the community and, in particular, the sewing group gossip a lot is the one by Cameron and Muriel.
Will Jack and Brady’s relationship heal, as well as Brasy reputation in the community? It would be very easy for Brady to redeem himself by being helpful in some dramatic event that will hit the small town.
Hazel played by Ava Anton is a child, we wonder what’s her story and who are her parents: some of the new cast addition or maybe a character we already know?
Susan Hogan as Rose, Danny’s grandmother will arrive in town, will she represent a problem for Hope and Doc?
It was announced someone will leave, at the beginning it will probably be Tara, played by Stacie Farber, the actress has been cast as the lead in the Canadian series The Spencer Sisters that was filmed in Winnipeg at the same time as Virgin River but we wouldn’t exclude other exits.
Fans were asking for it since the first season streamed, they will be happy to know towards the end, after a time jump, they’ll enjoy Virgin River at Christmas time, and some familiar characters will be back to celebrate the holiday season.
The series will be packed with, parties, celebrations, and singing performances, the community will come together when dramatic events will hit the small town.
Season 5 will bring more LGBTQ+ stories to create more inclusivity in the show.
Breckenridge has been extremely vocal about more diversity in Virgin River since the beginning in front and behind the camera.
If you watched Smith, Cardillo, and Keith’s previous works it won’t come as a surprise to you.
