Morticia reveals the truth Wednesday never knew. Years ago, Isaac tried to power a cure for Françoise with Gomez’s electricity. Morticia sabotaged the machine to save him. The blast killed Isaac, saved Françoise, and robbed Gomez of his ability. Augustus Stoneheart buried the evidence, and Isaac was laid under the Tree.
Isaac lures Wednesday beneath the Skull Tree after seizing Pugsley. When she arrives with Thing, she attempts a quick strike, but Isaac catches the crossbow bolt midair. Tyler grabs Thing, and Isaac turns the battlefield against her.
But Isaac has one more revelation. Thing isn’t just a loyal companion, he’s Isaac’s severed hand. Morticia cut it off years ago to stop Isaac’s machine, and the name “Thing” was really an anagram for “Night.”
Isaac reattaches the hand to complete himself once again, turning the reunion into a moment of horror before pressing his attack on Wednesday.
With a single command, the roots of the Skull Tree coil around Wednesday, dragging her beneath the earth and burying her alive. Agnes witnesses it and runs for help. Enid risks a full-moon change to pull Wednesday out, which hints she may be a permanent alpha.

Enid’s choice to transform under the full moon saves Wednesday but pushes her to the edge of control. A wildlife camera later catches her heading toward the Canadian border, her future uncertain.
