MORE TO COME ON VALENTINE’S DAY
To learn more about what is in store for this social season, RSVP here for Netflix and Shondaland’s Global Fan & Press Event on February 14 with exciting news from Executive Producer, Shonda Rhimes, showrunner Jess Brownell, author of the original Bridgerton novels, Julia Quinn. They will be joined by cast members Nicola Coughlan, Luke Newton, Golda Rosheuvel, Adjoa Andoh, Claudia Jessie, Luke Thompson, and Martins Imhangbe.
IT’S #POLIN TIME
The show will deviate from the book’s order for the first time in the series. Season 3 will skip book 3 (Benedict Bridgerton’s love story) and proceed to book 4 (Penelope and Colin’s love story)
At the center of the third season, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and her longtime crush, Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
Coughlan had already announced during Tudum: A Global Fan Event in Brazil last June that Penelope will have a “whole new look”. Coughlan continued, “We open our season with the ton’s return from the countryside… Both Colin and Pen have done some growing up. And only time will tell how their friendship will develop.”

OFFICIAL SYNOPSIS
After hearing his disparaging words about her last season, Penelope has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin. She has, however, decided it’s time to take a husband, preferably one who will provide her with enough independence to continue her double life as Lady Whistledown, far away from her mother and sisters. But lacking in confidence, Penelope’s attempts on the marriage mart fail spectacularly. Meanwhile, Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realize that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.
Eager to win back her friendship, Colin offers to mentor Penelope in the ways of confidence to help her find a husband this season. But when his lessons start working a little too well, Colin must grapple with whether his feelings for Penelope are truly just friendly. Complicating matters for Penelope is her rift with Eloise (Claudia Jessie), who has found a new friend in an improbable place, while Penelope’s growing presence in the ton makes it all the more challenging to keep her Lady Whistledown alter ego a secret.
